Sir Doodle-doo, a hilarious flamingo with an artist's beret permanently perched atop his head, wields a magical paintbrush. He's not your ordinary flamingo, as he’s spotted in polka dots instead of the usual pink, thanks to a hilarious mishap with a paint bucket. Sir Doodle-doo, with his squawking chuckles and paint-splattered feathers, guides all the young Crafty Critters of Florida. He takes them on an incredible journey through the world of colors and crafts. From designing superhero capes out of old t-shirts to making sandcastles that can withstand the highest tides, there’s no creative challenge too big for these Floridian craft masters. Our Crafty Critters and Sir Doodle-doo frolic and laugh under the warm Florida sun, their hands joyously busy, creating art that's as vibrant as the state's sunsets. What began in a humble New York City apartment with just a single student, Spark, has since blossomed into an enriching program impacting thousands of children. We also welcome homeschool groups and are thrilled to announce the recent addition of a forest school program to our repertoire. For our families in Pennsylvania, we run the program from our family studio there. And if you're not in close proximity to any of our locations, don't worry. Girl Scout Camp Telogia is a 9.5-acre paradise, located on the north side of Holmberg Road, just west of SR 441, in Parkland. This camp has been a beloved part of the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida since 1961, when Broward County gifted the land to the organization. In 2018, plans to permanently abandon the property were suspended and in 2019 a three-phase restoration and revitalization plan was adopted. Camp Telogia will soon be ready to welcome Girl Scouts for daytime and evening activities. It will be the perfect place for the progressive program outdoor experiences to begin. Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida is delighted to announce that Camp Telogia will soon be restored and revitalized to its former glory.
