About ClaySpace Ceramic Arts Studio in Lisle, IL

At ClaySpace NFP, our goal is to be a home for a growing clay arts community. We offer a wide variety of ceramics classes, from introductory to advanced levels, and host workshops by nationally and internationally recognized visiting artists. Our diverse group of instructors brings a vast array of knowledge and experience to the studio. We strive to provide an opportunity for everyone to explore and expand their personal artistic growth. ClaySpace NFP is committed to serving the needs of our members and the community. We are dedicated to providing a safe, creative, and supportive learning space for ceramics students of all experience levels. Our mission is to nurture creativity, foster community, and provide access to the ceramic arts. We strive to make our studio a welcoming space for both experienced and beginning ceramicists, and to foster an appreciation for the medium of clay.

Programs at ClaySpace Ceramic Arts Studio in Lisle, IL

BeAKid
Clay Fantasy (B) (4 Classes) (Ages 8-12)

Participants will explore their own creativity as they customize presented clay projects, thus ensuring success for all skill levels. They will decorate their creations with under-glazes, (which function as paint) and glazes (which seal the project and give it a shine). Possible projects include, but are not limited to: birdhouses, animal habitats, bobble heads, planters, animal sculptures, mugs, cups, trays, and bowls. Maximum participants: 6Session A: Wed. "Clay Time" (A) (8 Classes)

Experience ceramics and it’s magic. So much can be done with clay.Learn how and when to use the clay to make pieces like mugs, bowls, vases, creative sculpture and maybe even pieces for the garden or wall. Decorating your work is part of it. Endless possibilities with texture, color, additions, and alteration.Techniques used will be coil, slab and potter’s wheel, along with endless surface possibilities with texture, color, and glaze. This course considers all skill levels.
