The Lone Star State, Texas, is an enormous, swaggering titan of a place, as wild and untamed as the long-horned cattle that roam its prairies. It’s a land of cowboy boots, mouthwatering barbecues, towering skyscrapers, and, believe it or not, a mighty herd of lacrosse-playing kids. These kids are as tough as a two-dollar steak and as swift as a jackrabbit in bluebonnet season. They storm across the lacrosse field, wielding their sticks like wizards with wands, each goal they score causing a mighty cheer to echo across the wild Texan plains. Now, to make things even more interesting, imagine this: Leading this motley crew of lacrosse wizards is their fearless captain, an imaginary critter named Texy the Armadillo. Texy is no ordinary armadillo. He wears a leather cowboy hat, sports a pair of shiny boots, and carries his lacrosse stick like a rodeo champion slinging a rope. He's as funny as a clown in a tumbleweed tussle, and every time he scores, he hollers, “Yeehaw!” so loud, they hear it all the way up in Dallas. Texy has a heart bigger than Texas itself, and he leads his team with laughter, grit, and a hefty helping of Lone Star spirit. He shows the kids that whether they win or lose, the most important part is to have fun, work together, and, of course, to remember to shout a hearty “Yeehaw!” every now and then. Because in Texas, lacrosse isn't just a game, it's a wild, rip-roaring, armadillo-led adventure.

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
