About Midwest Clay Project in Madison, WI
Midwest Clay Project & Studios is a great place for anyone interested in ceramics. Located on Madison's east side, the 4800 square foot studio is the perfect space for creating unique ceramics pieces. The studio is equipped with worktables, 18 electric wheels, a slab roller, two extruders, a glaze spray booth, and electric kilns. We provide a variety of mid-range clay bodies and cone 6 oxidation studio glazes. Whether you’re interested in studio memberships, private studio space, classes, lessons, or open studio times, we have something for everyone. We also host parties, field trips, and other events. Midwest Clay Project has been providing a welcoming and creative environment to Madison residents since 2011. Stop in and get your hands on some clay!

BeAKid
KIDS CLAY CLUB
Weekly kids (aged 8-12) clay experience with local potter Hannah Best Monday afternoons 4/3/23 - 5/29/23. During this 8-week session your child will learn a variety of clay techniques (including the pottery wheel!) through guided weekly lessons with fun and engaging project ideas presented by the instructor. Free-choice making time will be available as well. Unlimited clay, 15 lbs finished work.

SUMMER CLASSES for KIDS & TEENS
Week-long classes for Kids (ages 7-11) 9:30 - 11:30am and Teens (ages 12-16) 1:30-3:30pm are offered the first 5 weeks of summer. Choose from a variety of themes for the kids classes or enroll your teen in multiple weeks of wheel-thrown pottery and watch their skills build. Class content is taught in a manner that draws out your child's creativity in a fun-filled and low-pressure making environment. All class materials are included in fees. Projects are typically available 2-3 weeks after completion of the class.

Private Lessons
If a weekly class doesn’t suit your schedule, consider a Private Lesson. Whether you have some experience or are starting fresh, lessons can be a great way to re-connect to your clay practice and learn MCP's studio flow. Each lesson is tailored to your needs, interests, and skill level. Lesson start times are typically scheduled Monday-Saturday, 10am-4pm, however, we can accommodate some evening hours as well. Email works best to schedule lessons. Individual Adult Lessons are $50 for 75 minutes of hands-on instruction ($40 per person for 2-4 people). Child Lessons (16 or under) are $35 for 60 minutes. One finished piece included, $5-15 per additional piece (size dependent).
