About Fort littlegreen Youth Camp and Nature Center in Stoughton, WI

At Fort littlegreen, we believe that the best way to learn about nature is to get out and explore it. We provide a safe, fun, and educational environment for children to learn about the world around them. Our program offers a unique experience that balances outdoor activities with activities in the garden, such as harvesting vegetables, planting seeds, and observing nature. We also teach children how to care for small animals, such as chickens, rabbits, and guinea pigs. At Fort littlegreen Youth Camp & Nature Center, we understand the importance of providing a safe, educational, and fun experience for children. We strive to create an environment that encourages children to explore, learn, and appreciate nature. Our mission is to help kids grow in body, mind, and spirit through outdoor and garden activities. We are proud to be a nature-based alternative to daycare, providing an unforgettable experience for children and their families.

FARM & GARDEN SCIENCE

Kids at our center begin germinating seeds in the winter months and watch their transplants make their way from indoors, to greenhouse, to field planting, and harvesting. Our chicken coop is a perfect place to learn about the care of small animals and provides endless hours of entertainment.

FIELD TRIPS

Some of our favorite nature-based field trips have been to The Madison Geology Museum, The Field Museum, Century Farm Park for fishing, Viking Village for swimming, Lake Kegonsa State Park for picnicking and hiking, visiting local parks and more!

FOOD DRIVE

Each year, kids and their families donate non-perishable food items for the Stoughton Food Pantry. Anyone donating food gets to participate in a center-sponsored FOOD FIGHT! This event has run for more that 5 years and is a great experience to let loose and get messy! I think the adults have just as much fun as the kids!
