There's fearless Freddie, the leader of the pack with a laugh that can scare off a bear (if there were any in Florida!). He can spot a turtle from a mile away. Then, there's curious Cathy, with eyes as wide as the Florida sky, always on the lookout for rainbow-feathered birds or magical flowers. And don’t forget about the mischievous twins, Billy and Bobby, with their never-ending bag of pranks. They once convinced everyone that they'd found Bigfoot's footprint, but it was just a large coconut! These young explorers, with their ever muddy boots and sun-tinged cheeks, know every nook and cranny of their beloved Florida. They chase butterflies through citrus groves, climb the tallest trees in mangrove forests, and even play hide and seek with the friendly dolphins near the coast. We also welcome homeschool groups and are thrilled to announce the recent addition of a forest school program to our repertoire. You can find Spark on-site in various schools and at our main studio located in the Upper West Side. But we're not stopping there - we're also planning to expand to the Upper East Side and Brooklyn. For our families in Pennsylvania, we run the program from our family studio there. And if you're not in close proximity to any of our locations, don't worry. We offer in-home instruction and virtual options to ensure that Spark can reach you, no matter where you are. The Jupiter Outdoor Center's Youth Summer Program offers children and parents an extraordinary nature experience! From ages 5 to 15, this one-stop adventure provides an unforgettable summer for the whole family. With activities including rock climbing, obstacle courses, and kayaking, kids can explore nature and develop their skills while having fun in the great outdoors. Riverbend Park is an outdoor adventure paradise! With 700 acres of natural area to explore, the park offers a range of recreational activities, including hiking, biking, horseback riding, canoeing, kayaking and school programs. The park is home to an array of wildlife, including deer, turkey, bobcats, otters and many species of birds. It also features 10 miles of hiking and biking trails, 7 miles of equestrian trails and 5 miles of canoeing and kayaking trails. With its Wild and Scenic Loxahatchee River, Cracker Farmstead and Seminole chickees, Riverbend Park is an ideal spot for families to explore and picnic in Florida's untouched beauty.
Camp Welaka is situated in Jonathan Dickinson State Park, in Tequesta, Florida. The 640-acre facility boasts a swimming pool, lake access, and river access, and is the perfect destination for Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts. The camp has a full-time ranger on-site, and is equipped with a combination of both platform tent and cabin sites, a lodge, and an activity and dining center with a commercial kitchen. The camp has two platform tent sites with eight tents each, sleeping four, and one platform tent site with four tents sleeping four. There are also six cabins sleeping four at one site, and eight cabins at another. The Cook’s Cabin sleeps 12, and there is an ADA accessible Bunk House available for reservation. Additionally, there is a Unit House for activities and eating, a Director’s Cabin, and an Infirmary. All of these facilities make Camp Welaka the perfect place to spend a fun-filled camping experience!
