This martial art was founded by Grandmaster Hwang Kee on November 9, 1945. Soo Bahk Do (Hand Strike Way) translates as “Hand Strike Way” and signifies the technical side of the martial art. Moo Duk Kwan (Martial Virtue School) translates as “Martial Virtue (or Honor) School” and signifies the style or philosophy that is studied. It is a well-rounded, self-defense martial art that promotes values such as discipline, respect, confidence, flexibility, and courage. At Viera Soo Bahk Do, we strive to teach the fundamentals of Soo Bahk Do in an atmosphere of professionalism and respect.
