With his hat turned backward, an oversized whistle always at the ready, and his pants perpetually pulled up too high, Uncle Tony is a sight to see! Imagine a grizzly bear doing ballet, or a giraffe trying to roller skate and you’ve got Uncle Tony. His kids, the Illinois Tornadoes, as they're known, are a force to be reckoned with. They zoom around the field so fast it's as if they've harnessed the power of the Windy City itself! With turf in their shoes, grass stains on their uniforms, and never-ending smiles on their faces, the Tornadoes make every Illinoisan proud. They laugh, they leap, they dive, and they dash, making Flag Football more than just a game. It's an Illinois spectacle! Between the wild antics of Uncle Touchdown Tony and the unyielding spirit of the Illinois Tornadoes, the state of Illinois becomes a riotous paradise of flag football fun. For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
The Bill George Youth Football League (BGYFL) is proud to present its longest-running franchise! Our Football program is designed to give kids an enjoyable and safe environment to learn the fundamentals of the sport with the goal of helping them transition into high school sports. Our Cheer program has the same objective, and is accredited by the Illinois Recreational Cheer Association (IRCA). Our coaches are well-trained to teach the fundamentals of competitive cheer with the goal of helping our students excel at the high school level. At the BGYFL, we strive to give our young athletes an enjoyable and enriching experience that will provide them with the tools they need to excel in high school sports. Our Football and Cheer programs provide the perfect platform for kids to learn and hone their skills while having fun. Our Football program is the oldest of its kind and provides a safe and secure environment for kids to grow and learn the fundamentals of the sport. Similarly, our Cheer program is accredited by the Illinois Recreational Cheer Association and provides the perfect platform for kids to learn competitive cheer and refine their skills. With our programs, kids can gain the confidence and skills they need to succeed in high school sports.
