The Quarry is part of Crystal Lake’s Three Oaks Recreation Area, a stunning community resource with a story more than 60 years in the making. It began life as a gravel mine, and after years of mining, the quarry was filled with fresh groundwater, creating two large, deep lakes. Visitors of all ages can explore the area and appreciate the pristine waters and natural habitats. For adrenaline seekers, the Quarry Cable Park is the perfect spot for a unique experience. Located on North Lake, the 32-acre cable wake park features Unit Parktech jumps and features, so you can enjoy wakeboarding in a whole new way. At CLRC, our junior and masters rowing club based on Crystal Lake in the city of Crystal Lake, Illinois, we are committed to helping young adults get the most out of the sport of rowing. Our boathouse is located in Naoki Kamijima Park, and our Learn to Row camps are a great way for young adults in grades 8-12 to get an introduction to the sport and see if it is the right fit for them. Led by our experienced coaches and junior crew athletes, our camps provide an opportunity for young adults to learn the basics of rowing and get a feel for the sport. Whether they are interested in joining the crew or simply curious about the sport, our Learn to Row camps provide a great way for them to get their feet wet. The MAC is an incredible 39-acre athletic complex situated in Crystal Lake! With an incredible 65,000 square feet of indoor facilities, parents and kids alike can enjoy two full-size indoor soccer fields, two regulation basketball courts, and a 2,500-square-foot Ninja Room. The MAC has recently expanded its outdoor options, too! Our kids will be able to enjoy a lighted Field Turf field that can host a variety of sports, such as soccer, lacrosse, baseball, and football. Plus, there are 5 grass fields for additional outdoor fun. Parents, the MAC is the perfect place to get your kids active! We offer a variety of recreational activities, from bowling and adaptive sports to educational classes and leisure trips. Our highly trained staff and volunteers are dedicated to creating meaningful experiences for each person that visit us. We are proud to be an extension of 13 park districts and municipal recreation departments, providing year-round recreation for the local community.
