Deep in the heart of the corn cob kingdom, known as the magnificent state of IL, thousands of mini-farmers rise with the dawn. They roll up their plaid-shirt sleeves, don their sun hats, and charge into the fields with a determination as sturdy as the mightiest John Deere tractor. These aren't your average kids. No, sir! They are the soil superheroes of IL, cultivating the earth with their tiny, dirt-covered hands and enormous, fun-filled hearts.

Among these mini-farmers, Billy the Beanstalk is a legend. Standing tall at a whole four feet and three inches, Billy is renowned for his ability to grow the crunchiest corn, the greenest beans, and the most enormous pumpkins you've ever seen. But that's not all. Billy has a secret tool, a magical red bandana named Ruby, which he swears gives him super-growing powers. With Ruby wrapped around his head, Billy can make a tiny seed sprout into a towering stalk overnight. 

In the fantastic fields of IL, days are filled with laughter and friendly competitions. Who can pick the most apples, dig up the biggest carrots, or find the weirdest shaped potato? Billy and his friends turn every task into a game, making the fields echo with giggles and shouts of triumph. At night, they gather around crackling bonfires, roasting marshmallows, telling tales of giant tomato plants, and dreaming about the next day's farming adventure. 

The state of IL is more than just a place on the map, it's a land where kids can explore, learn, and grow alongside the plants they nurture. They're not only budding farmers, they're the tiny ambassadors of agriculture, and with their spirit, every day is a funny, muddy, sun-kissed journey in the world of farming.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. 

 I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones
One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people.

Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment.

At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special.

Farm and Ranch Camps at the Center

The Amstutz family has been working hard to create an experience that combines our love of nature and the outdoors with a desire to share our knowledge of sustainable farming and animal care. We have a large variety of animals – horses, chickens, pigs, cows, turkeys, sheep, and goats – and we take great pride in caring for them. We also have acres of vegetable gardens, an outdoor kitchen, a playground, and a nature trail. 

The Amstutz family has put their imagination and hard work into creating The Country Experience – a 34 acre farm located in the heart of rural Ohio. The Country Experience is a summer sleepaway camp, but it is also a place for school groups and teachers to experience hands-on learning, a destination for families to get away and relax, and a home to delicious wood-fired pizza. 

The Amstutz family is passionate about providing a unique experience that combines their love of nature and the outdoors with sustainable farming and animal care. Visitors to The Country Experience can meet and interact with horses, chickens, pigs, cows, turkeys, sheep, and goats, explore acres of vegetable gardens, and take a stroll along the nature trail. Plus, there is an outdoor kitchen and playground for even more fun and fresh air.

The Glenview Park District is a unique governing body, separate from the Village of Glenview. For nearly a century, the Park District has met the recreational and open space needs of the community through collaboration and cooperation with various governmental entities and community organizations.

The Park District is dedicated to creating a harmonious and healthy community in which everyone can appreciate the environment and experience happiness and good health each day. 

The Glenview Park District has a long history of serving the local community. Its independence from the Village of Glenview makes it a unique governing body. Through its relationships with other governmental bodies and community organizations, it has been able to meet the recreation and open space needs of the community for almost a hundred years. 

The Park District is devoted to maintaining a supportive and healthy community in which all residents can find joy and well-being, and have a deep admiration for the environment. This mission is at the heart of its purpose and drives its activities each day. 

The Glenview Park District is an integral part of the community, providing recreational opportunities and access to open spaces for the last hundred years. Its independence and collaborations with other governing bodies and organizations have enabled it to meet the needs of the community. Above all else, it seeks to create an environment of health, happiness, and respect for the environment for everyone.

The Park District and Park Foundation are collaborating to ensure that all park district residents have access to the recreational programs. To this end, assistance is provided to those facing financial hardship. This program is available to all who live in the park district boundaries and are in need of assistance. Individuals who have special medical, physical, psychological, and/or emotional needs or receive special services from the school district are also encouraged to reach out to the Park District. The staff at Lincolnway Special Recreation Association will work with the Park District to provide reasonable accommodations to participants with disabilities. Participants who would like to request inclusion services are asked to complete the appropriate forms provided by the Park District.

At the Elk Grove Historical Museum, we are passionate about connecting our community to its history. Our museum specializes in the history of Elk Grove and its development over time. We offer a variety of services and experiences to engage and educate visitors, including year-round tours of our Victorian Era farmhouse and grounds, school and scout programs, and exhibits. We also provide assistance with research on Elk Grove Village and the surrounding area, as well as crafts, games, and demonstrations. Our mission is to actively partner with the community to collect and preserve local history, and our vision is to be valued by the community by building lifelong connections through shared experiences.
