Dear Families, Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people. Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment. At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new. Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special. The Celtic Academy of Irish Dance is Dayton’s premier Irish Dance School having been voted Best of Dayton by Dayton Magazine and Dayton.com. Under the direction of Mary and Laureen Laffey, the Celtic Academy is known for its family atmosphere enabling a fun and growing fellowship among the dancers, teachers and parents. Within our positive environment, our teachers are continually working hard and creating innovative ways to help every dancer achieve his or her goals in this unique & intricate form of dance. We strive to develop the self-esteem, confidence, and Irish dance skills of each dancer in a positive nurturing environment where all of our students can reach their full potential. We work to instill a sense of unity and friendship among our students and their families through a variety of Irish cultural events such as the Dayton Celtic Festival, Celtic Fest Ohio, Dayton's A World A'fiar, Troy Festival of National, Global Fest in Lafayette IN and more. Our dancers also have several opportunities to participe in local, national and international dance competitions.

Dayton Contemporary Dance Company was founded in 1968 to create performance opportunities for dancers of color. Five decades later, the 10th largest modern contemporary dance company in the nation remains rooted in the African-American experience and committed to the development of diverse movement artists on the global stage. A co-recipient of one of the dance world’s highest honors, the 2016 Bessie Award for Outstanding Revival, DCDC has been presented by American Dance Festival, Paul Taylor American Modern Dance, and Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, and supported by National Endowment for the Arts and New England Foundation for the Arts among others.

We not only hope to teach you dancing and / or twirling, but also to develop self-confidence, grace, body coordination, memorization skills, rhythm, and eye / hand coordination with baton and flag. In addition, a healthy competitive spirit and the opportunity for artistic expression! My dream studio at last!! It has two large 40×40 teaching dance rooms, wood floors, mirrors, etc.! We can have Production Practice at the studio! No more band room! I am so excited! Although, when I moved into my present studio, I thought that was my dream studio, except I wanted larger dance rooms! Now, here it is! We have it all!! Join us! Dance is a type of art that generally involves movement of the body, often rhythmic and to music. It is performed in many cultures as a form of emotional expression, social interaction, or exercise, in a spiritual or performance setting, and is sometimes used to express ideas or tell a story.

We offer a non-competitive environment for students to learn. We utilize positive reinforcement, small class sizes (5-10), and a family oriented environment. Not only do we use classic instruction, but we also use other methods including games to allow the children to have fun while learning.

Dynamic Praisers and Dance Team is a non profit organization that currently serv students ages 4-18. We provide dance education in all types of dance. DPDT is a dance group designed to help children have a healthy lifestyle through the art of dance. We help to build our student’s self-esteem and encourage them to value their self-worth, while building and bonding beneficial friendships with other students. Our studio promotes an atmosphere for students and parents to have a family oriented experience while participating in all programs, courses, and/or camps.
