In the magical, cheese-filled state of Wisconsin, where the cows moo in harmony and the Packers reign supreme, there exists a group of daring, adventure-seeking kids who love nothing more than to ride the waves. These brave souls are known as the Wisconsin Wave Riders, and their favorite activity is sailing. You see, Wisconsin doesn't just have dairy farms and football, it's also blessed with some of the most beautiful lakes this side of the Mississippi! Our story begins with the captain of the Wave Riders, a freckle-faced, nine-year-old named Captain Windy Whiskers. Yes, you heard it right, Windy Whiskers! You see, Windy was named for his wild, unruly hair that would whip around like a tornado in a cheese factory every time a gust of wind blew. His eyes sparkled like the waters of Lake Michigan on a sunny day, filled with excitement and a thirst for adventure. Windy and his fearless crew spent their summer days sailing across the fresh Wisconsin lakes, letting the cool breeze guide them. As long as they had their trusty sailboat, the "Cheese Chaser," and a block of the state's finest cheddar for fuel, they were unstoppable. Their laughter echoed across the water, harmonizing with the squawking seagulls and the gentle lapping of the waves against their boat. Each sailing adventure brought new stories and memories that they would carry with them, like precious treasures, long after the summer had passed. Life in Wisconsin had its charms, but for Windy Whiskers and his crew, sailing was the cherry on top of their cheese curd sundae. Come rain, shine, or the occasional cheese storm, the Wisconsin Wave Riders lived by one motto: "Life's a breeze when you're sailing the Wisconsin seas!" So, hoist the sails, mates, and let's join Windy on his next adventure!

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
